Halo (Hybrid Fractional Laser)
The Sciton Halo laser precisely targets years of skin damage and the visible signs of aging. You will see improvements in overall tone and texture in addition to significant removal of discoloration, reduction in the appearance of fine lines, reduced pore size, skin reflectivity and glow.
BBL (Broadband Light)
BBL address your most common skin concerns with the power of light. The light energy delivered by BBL will gently heat the upper layers of your skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas will stimulate your skin cells to regenerate. This corrective process will restore your skin to its natural beauty, making it clearer, smoother, vibrant and younger looking. BBL allows your clinician to treat age spots, small facial veins, and many other skin conditions. BBL stimulates cells to regenerate, and typically with the first treatment you will start to see smoother, more even and vibrant skin. The photothermal energy will eliminate fine vessels that cause redness and reduce unwanted melanin that produces age and sun spots. Your skin will feel smoother, pores will be less noticeable, and uneven pigmentation will fade.
SkinTyte gives you more youthful looking skin. As we age, skin loses its youthful firmness and natural elasticity, especially around the jawline and neck where it can add years to your appearance. While no one escapes the forces of aging and gravity, SkinTyte can fight against them. SkinTyte uses BBL
technology the world’s most powerful IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) device on the market. It sets new standards in treating skin conditions associated with aging, active life-styles, and sun damage. SkinTyte treatments are safe for all skin types and can be performed on any area of the body where an improvement in the appearance of sagging skin is desired. Popular areas include the face, neck, abdomen and arms. SkinTyte is a generally quick, comfortable procedure, with typically no downtime. The end result is a more youthful appearance.
Forever Bare BBL is a comfortable treatment with virtually no downtime. During the treatment, pulsed light delivers photothermal energy to hair follicles. The rapid, short pulses of light or photothermal energy causes the hair follicle to stop producing hair without harming any surrounding tissue. Any area of your body can be treated. The most commons areas are the face, under arms, arms, legs, bikini area, chest, shoulders and back. The result is hair removal that’s more comfortable, safer, and typically faster than other traditional treatments.
Forever Clear BBL is a cutting-edge acne treatment that uses the power of light to comfortably and effectively clear acne without creams or medicine. BBL is the world’s most powerful IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) device delivering light energy deep into your skin to help treat acne, leaving you with clear, healthy, radiant skin. Most areas of your body can be treated. The most common treatment areas where acne is found is on the face, neck and back.
Virginia ENT offers the following non-surgical procedures:
Fractional CO2 Laser
Fractional CO2 provides wrinkle reduction, overall tissue tightening and textural improvement. The skin will have a Smoother, tighter texture while decreasing pigmentation problems.
The laser treatment is done in the office and requires 5 days of downtime. Most patients look and feel as if they have sunburn for several days. To obtain optimal results sometimes it is required to have multiple laser treatments. To learn more about this procedure and Dr. Burke, click here.
Wrinkle fillers like Juvéderm® and Radiesse® are injections that are useful means of improving specific wrinkles and scars. They can be used to refine the improvements from other cosmetic procedures. BOTOX is most helpful in improving vertical furrows between eyebrows whereas Juvederm and Radiesse are used to fill out small skin surface defects, as well as, the creases around the lips.
Multiple treatments may be necessary over time since the filler gradually absorbs into the tissue and its effect disappears. This treatment provides improvement in about eighty percent of patients and is done in the office with local anesthesia. You can resume full activities immediately after the injection.
BOTOX is a medication which is injected directly into the muscles to weaken the activity of the muscle. This in turn will result in a smoother appearance on the skin surface. The duration of the effect from BOTOX varies from individual to individual but is usually in the range of three to four months. The treatment can be repeated as often as desired. There is no restriction on activities following BOTOX treatments. To learn more about this procedure and Dr. Burke, click here.
Fillers are products which safely add volume and fullness to areas of the face. Over time, your face changes in many ways. This is part of the normal aging process, but genetics and environmental factors also play a role. You may notice a change in the appearance of your skin, typically in the form of deepening parentheses lines and wrinkles. Fillers may be used to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (the nasolabilal folds), restore shape to cheeks and plump up the lips. The products used by Dr. Burke include:
- RESTYLANE® – Focuses on nasolabial folds and the lips
- JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC – Focuses on nasolabial folds and wrinkles around the nose and mouth.
- JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC – Focuses on adding lift and contour to the cheeks.

Plasma Rich Protein
A procedure that has been used successfully for years to heal sports injuries is becoming the treatment of choice to improve the appearance of wrinkles, scars, sun damage and even dark circles under the eyes. It is popular because of its organic nature. Plasma taken from the patient’s own blood is injected into the body. The possibility of side effects/adverse reactions is practically nonexistent. The treatment has become popularly known as the Platelet-Rich Plasma Facelift.
Kybella® is an FDA-approved injectable treatment that destroys fat cells under the chin to improve your profile. Once the fat cells are destroyed they can no longer store or accumulate fat so further treatment is not expected to be needed once the desired aesthetic goal is achieved.
Dermabrasion & Scar Revision
There are a variety of techniques which may be used to improve the appearance of scars. The overall goal of improvement is to minimize the appearance of the scars. You must realize that it is not ever possible to completely remove all traces of a scar since the body can only heal by forming a new scar. Thus the goal of scar revision and dermabrasion is to render a scar less conspicuous.
Scar revision is done either in the office setting or in an outpatient surgery setting. Healing generally takes several days and there usually is minimal restriction on activities. On occasion a scar revision surgery is combined with dermabrasion in a staged fashion to achieve the best results possible.
Dermabrasion is an excellent means of providing overall improvement in acne scarring. The scarring cannot be completely removed, but when combined with other minor procedures dermabrasion can provide excellent smoothing of noticeable acne defects. The acne itself must be inactive prior to dermabrasion. To learn more about this procedure and Dr. Burke, click here.
Virginia ENT offers the following surgical procedures:
Creating the Nose You Always Wanted
Rhinoplasty is the surgical procedure for correcting structural deformities of the nose. It involves redesigning the nose either by removing excess tissue or correcting insufficiencies to improve overall nasal contour and function. Your surgeon can shorten a long nose, narrow a wide one, reduce a wide tip, lower a high nose, and straighten a crooked one. The incision is placed in relatively hidden positions, such as inside the nostril or underneath the nose to avoid visible scarring. For more information from Dr. Burke click here.
A Younger-Looking You
Facelift surgery has become one of the most popular and well-known forms of cosmetic surgery. More and more aging people want to look as youthful as they feel mentally.
The surgery is designed to lift and tighten sagging tissues of the lower face and neck. Incisions are placed in front of and behind the ear in the natural creases of the skin and in areas which help hide the scars. The skin is separated from the underlying tissues and gently smoothed back to relieve the redundant folds. The surgery will often include tightening the underlying muscles of the face in order to provide this smoother skin a solid foundation to rest upon. The excess skin then is removed and the remaining skin is brought back into position. For more information from Dr. Burke click here.
Restoring the Eyes
Age brings changes to the eyes much as with other facial features. The muscles around the eyes often weaken, allowing fatty tissue to protrude through them, producing the commonly seen bags or pouches. Although this often is associated with the aging process, it also may be an inherited characteristic or related to certain diseases. In addition, as the eyebrows descend, an accumulation of excess skin above the eyes can lead to a tired, hooded appearance. Blepharoplasty (eye lift surgery) is designed to eliminate excess skin and fat in your upper and lower eyelids. For more information from Dr. Burke click here.
Facial Sculpting/Fat Injections
Facial sculpting with fat grafting, commonly known as fat transfer, lipostructure or micro fat injection is a method of transferring fat to help rejuvenate and improve contours of the face. Fat is removed from areas such as the abdomen or thighs. The suctioned fat is processed by centrifuging to isolate the living fat. The fat is then placed into specific areas of the face to achieve the desired results. For more information from Dr. Burke click here.
Making Protruding Ears Inconspicuous
Ears are ideally positioned close to the side of the head. Anyone with protruding ears knows the hurtful teasing their ears may provoke. This can be especially difficult for primary school-age children. Classroom teasing can be avoided by having corrective surgery before the age of six, but it can be done at any age, even adulthood. Other outer ear deformities can be corrected by surgery as well. For more information from Dr. Burke click here.
An Upper Facelift
One of the earliest signs of aging is the drooping of the eyebrows. This causes the eyes to appear smaller or deeper set and accentuates crows feet (the wrinkles often found at the outer corners of the eyes). In addition, furrows may appear horizontally and vertically as the brow descends. These conditions can be dramatically improved with a forehead or brow lift. Creating Facial Balance through Chin Augmentation
Ideal facial balance starts with an ideal bone structure. This can be achieved through sculpting and contouring your existing facial framework. One of the most commonly performed procedures to accomplish this is chin augmentation or mentoplasty. A mentoplasty can bring a receding or weak chin into better harmony with other facial features and create a more pleasing balance. Because mentoplasty can improve the results of a rhinoplasty or facelift, it is often done in conjunction with these procedures. For more information from Dr. Burke click here.
Highlighting the Cheeks
Another common way of contouring the facial framework to achieve greater beauty is through cheek augmentation via implants. Traditionally, strong cheekbones have been considered signs of beauty because they add to the definition of the face and help improve facial harmony. In addition, some malar implants may give a more youthful appearance to the face and can enhance the results of a facelift. For more information from Dr. Burke click here.
